Years ago, when I started creating my own of hanafuda, I became obsessed with Japanese family crests. As an icon designer, I absolutely love the approach to constructing them and the symbolic nature of them that differs entirely from western family crests.
While that motif became the basis for Junior Hanafuda, I would love to print them on nobori, those narrow Japanese flags. One day I might get around to printing them on noren or nobori. But until then, they make great desktop icons.
