I know the Uvalde shooting just happened, and some bozos think that now is not the time to talk about how to prevent another massacre, but has enough time passed since the Columbine shooting to talk about gun culture, gun ownership, and gun control laws yet?
If the only acceptable time to talk about gun control is more than a day after any mass shooting, you’ll be hard-pressed to find time.
Let’s review this last week’s mass shootings in the US.
| Date | City | Killed | Injured |
|---|---|---|---|
| May 18 | Philadelphia | 0 | 5 |
| May 19 | Chicago | 2 | 7 |
| May 20 | New Orleans | 1 | 3 |
| May 20 | Highland | 1 | 8 |
| May 20 | Kissimmee | 1 | 3 |
| May 21 | Tacoma | 0 | 4 |
| May 21 | Goshen | 2 | 3 |
| May 23 | North Charleston | 0 | 5 |
| May 23 | Cleveland | 0 | 5 |
| May 24 | Uvalde | 22 | 17 |
If we’re not allowed to discuss the politics of guns because shootings happen this frequently, when is the right time?
