Behind the design of “it’s a small world” is legendary artist Mary Blair. Though she retired from background painting at the Disney studio, Walt asked for her to come back for the World’s Fair because her style and use of color was in stark contrast to the typical Disney aesthetic.
Now, the style of “it’s a small world” has become an iconic design element of Disney Parks across the world.
