Apart from my work at Parakeet, I also make playing cards as Junior, create fonts as Crown, and write this blog, which includes icons, wallpapers, photos, and my sketchbook.
Below are the projects I’m working on right now.
Following Junior’s hanafuda, playing cards, and poker dice projects, I am now creating a traditional-style hanafuda set, with an nontraditional double-size deck (96 cards).
Unlike my previous cards, these are not mass manufactured because a large portion of this project requires a deeper level of craft and care.
Firstly, each card is a unique illustration. They’re printed using a Risograph, one color at a time. The sheets are then pasted on board, coated, and cut, at which time each card is then wrapped—by hand—with an additional, opaque paper layer. I designed an all-new paulownia wood box, which will feature a hot-iron brand with artwork by my friend MILTZ.
Junior Hanakaruta is entirely made in Japan.

$30For over 10 years, Magic Passport has been a hobby project of mine. My goal is to catalogue all of the points of interest at Disney Parks and present them in a beautiful, easy to browse iPhone app.
In addition to the manual effort for database entry, things will also be tagged and grouped for filtering. There are over 20 UI themes, and over 600 custom icons, not including the alternate app icons. Ideally, there will be guides, complete with tips and information, with the ability to check off lists and add any point of interest to your own passport.
This project has had a few engineers over its 10-year life, and each made valiant efforts before retiring from it. Every time, I’ve had to start more-or-less from scratch.
